FAQ

If this is a jukebox / cinema / arcade, howcome I can’t hear / watch or play anything?

Ah, yes. Unfortunately this website offers no interactive services. It’s more of a visual accompaniment type affair. However, there are plenty of links to Spotify, Amazon and various gaming websites dotted around if you wish to connect with those.

I count more than 64 blocks. What’s up with that?

Very astute of you. Yes, the square grid is 16 x 16 and the portrait 12 x 18, equalling 256 and 216 blocks respectively. The ’64’ refers to the colours used for creating each piece of showcased media on the site; four reds, four greens and four blues (4 x 4 x 4 = 64).

So are you planning to do a real 64 block grid?

No. This has been attempted and it just looks like mush. Nobody likes mush (to look at, at least).

How dare you – I don’t see my favourite album / film or game here. Can you do it?

With 70+ years of recorded music, 100+ years of commercial cinema and 50-ish years of gaming to choose from, it’s a little bit tricky to feature everything, so if you have a notable omission it can indeed be built. Feel free to suggest an album here, a film here or a game here. You are under no obligation to buy anything and suggestions to grow the respective libraries are very much welcome.

I’m not made out of money – why do certain things cost so much?

Some elements are indeed quite on the pricey side. Everything is print on demand, so the products are more expensive than if bought in bulk – as an example, there are around 500 albums on site (at time of writing) and it’s not feasible to print up and stock 10 variants of t shirt for each of those albums on the off chance that someone might purchase one. So it’s very difficult to make everything viable commercially, but rest assured that all products are very high standard, courtesy of Printful.

Periodically there will be promotions and offers and some things will always be enforced – as an example you can buy three coasters for £18. The discount will be applied automatically when you checkout.

Are there any limits to requests?

Generally speaking, no. But anything pornographic wouldn’t be acceptable. Not that I’m a prude, just I don’t feel that this is the place for it. Anything illegal likewise, though I would doubt there’s anything commerically available that would be popular enough to be recognisable. There are some music artists that I dislike enough as to probably reject outright, but you’d have to work out who those are.

Did people really ask these questions?

No. I was just trying to be helpful.
